ADI Certified Professional badge: Practical AI for Life After 40

Practical AI for Life After 40 is organized around what you are dealing with, not around what the technology can do. Ten problems that the research says weigh most on adults over 40 — money that is tight and a retirement that looks uncertain, caring for parents and children at once, staying employable past 50, keeping up with AI at work, weight and sleep and the after-40 body, scams that now use AI too, a shrinking circle, wills and insurance and a parent's finances, too much to do, and what comes next — each get a module, and each module ends with something real on paper. You pick one free chatbot in Lesson 2 — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot — and use it for the whole course. Every prompt is plain text that works in all four. Four learners carry the examples: Marcus, 48, a warehouse supervisor whose father is moving in; Denise, 54, job-hunting for the first time since 2009; Ray, 61, eighteen months from retirement; Lorraine, 44, a bookkeeper and single mother who had never opened a chatbot. Level 1, Life Organizer, covers the toolkit, money and health: a spending picture from your own numbers, a 90-day plan for the squeeze, retirement terms in plain English, a doctor-visit prep sheet, a routine built around your real week, and a household scam checklist. Level 2, Career Navigator, is work: a résumé that translates 25 years of experience, beating the screening software and the age stereotype, interviewing in 2026, one AI routine you can show your boss, writing and summarizing and explaining at work, learning anything new in a week, finding your hours, and sorting a hard week without the chatbot becoming the plan. Level 3, Future Planner, is family and future: a caregiving map, understanding a diagnosis and the system, the conversation you have been avoiding, your documents in order, insurance and the fine print, helping a parent get organized, rebuilding your circle, and a one-page next chapter. Four house rules run through every lesson: never paste identity or account numbers; AI prepares you for the professional and does not replace them; check before you act; you decide. Every money, health and legal lesson ends with who to take it to. Each level ends with a quiz and a capstone you upload — three pieces of your own real work, anonymized, with a line under each saying what you checked and where — scored against a published five-row rubric. Pass both and you earn that level's credential, with a number anyone can check on our public verification page.
